Summer is a season filled with sunny days, blossoming flowers, and a sense of renewed energy.
While knitting may be associated with cozy winter evenings, it can also be a delightful and rewarding activity during the summer months.

In this blog post, we will delve into the wonderful world of summer knitting, celebrating the vibrant colors, lightweight fibers, and breezy patterns that are perfect for this time of year.

Finding inspiration for summer knitting projects is part of the creative process.
Here are some wonderful sources where you can discover a wealth of ideas both online or locally:

  • Ravelry: This is one of the most popular and largest knitting and crochet communities online. You can find both free and paid knitting patterns, awesome groups, and ways to communicate with other knitting friends.
  • Knitting Paradise: The top online forum for everything knitting. Here you can share progress, ask questions and ask/suggest pattern ideas.
  • Pinterest: This is an image-based search website where you will be able to find visually, patterns that you love. We have both Spring and  Summer Knitting Inspiration boards.
  • Books and Magazines: There are quite a few Summer Knitting Magazines at your local books store. But if you want to avoid the heat, Amazon also has a great selection of great summer ideas.
  • Festivals: Yarn festivals, knitting festivals, and fiber arts festivals are great and FUN ways to get new patterns, and new yarn and make new friends as well.
  • Yarn Shops: Your local yarn shop is perfect for finding patterns. Some of them might have a few free patterns and others available for sale. We have found amazing treasures this way.
  • Community Events: You can Google ‘(name of your city) knitting community’ and find great communities. One of our favorite organizers is ‘Stitch and Bitch’, (inspired by the book) they have a great and strong community all around the world.
