Learn how to knit a rib (stretchy) hat in the round by using double-pointed knitting needles (dpns).

Besides learning how to use these needles you will also learn:

-Long-tail cast-on method

-How to knit a ribbing pattern

-How to decrease stitches at the crown of the hat-

-How to bind-off with a sewing needle

MATERIALS

#8US (5mm) double-pointed needles.

Instructions:

Cast on 88 stitches (for medium adult size).

Any multiple of 4.

Repeat from * to *

Cast on 88 stitches (for medium adult size.

Any multiple of 4.

Work 7’ of knit 2, purl 2 ribbing.

Then start taking off for the brim:

1.- *Knit 2, purl 2, knit 2, purl 2 together*=77

2.- *Knit 2, purl 2, knit 2, purl 1*

3.- *Knit 2, purl 2 together, knit 2, purl 1*=66

4.- *Knit 2, purl 1* 

5.- *Knit 1, knit 2 together*=44

6.-  Knit

7.- *Knit 2, knit 2 together*=33

8.- Knit

9.- *Knit 2, knit 2 together*

Pass yarn through remaining stitches, secure with a knot, and weave in ends.
